Stopped by around 2 on a Sunday afternoon in route to New Orleans. The white folk had all finished lunch and now the AME churches were letting out and filling up the place. That says a world about there food appealing to everyone. I think I put on 2 pounds by the time I waddled out. Having spent summers in Jackson the 1950-60s I could not help but notice the change. Then it was black fold serving white customers. Now it is the white owners serving black customers. Progress has come to Jackson! :-)

The food here is amazing, and the service is great - there is a delicious buffet, but also friendly staff. The fried chicken was outrageous, my family loved the rolls (grabbed them off the pan before they could even get to the buffet table), and the bread pudding was worth every calorie!

The food, the service and the Managers all deserve the recognition. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Fried Chicken lives up to it word. Those Angel Biscuits, I cant say enough about them, they just melt in your mouth. Being in the business, I am a bit more judgmental. They didn't miss a beat,. And one last but definitely not least, Laura, my server, was on top of it and had a really great attitude. Thank you for such a wonderful lunch. David Read Food and Beverage Director.

So after reading reviews I make this my choice for one of two lunches while in this town. Don't come here with high expectations, after all, it is a buffet. Hands down the fried chicken is the best item on this buffet. The spaghetti is OK. I could not eat the dumplings. To be polite, I ate most of the chicken in the chicken and dumplings; I think that dish is any acquired taste. The cabbage was tasty and the angel cakes were really good. The owner walked me through the buffet and introduced every item after I was not familiar with chicken and dumplings (I called it chicken and gravy). The vegetable soup broth is hearty and flavorful. I really enjoyed that cup of soup. To finish my meal, I had the chocolate cake. Home made, probably from a box, but hey, I love cake that comes from a box, and if it didn't come from a box, please take that as a compliment. The cake was fluffy, light and the frosting was irresistible. I ate the whole thing enjoying every single bite scraping the plate for every crumb. Great southern lunch for a great price. If you come on a nice day, be sure to ask for seating on the balcony; you get a great view of the Capitol.

Excellent food. Great service and the restaurant patio area was very nice. Stopped here on a road trip and would definitely come back. And you can't beat the price: 13 for all you can eat fried chicken and sides, drink and dessert (we has Apple crisp and banana pudding). If we're ever in the area will make a point to stop here again.

Phenomenal southern food. Everything is homemade, friendly staff, and has that small business touch. BUT, is one open for lunch and is ALWAYS busy. Go after 1:30 ish for a late lunch and avoid the crowd before they close. Perfect time.

Went here a few weeks ago and I can understand why they say this place has the best fried chicken because it is absolutely true. Amazing experience, all of the food was good and their desserts are fantastic. Peach cobbler was my favorite.
